If you’ve been online today you might have noticed that it belongs to M.I.A. After officially taking over Pitchfork’s Twitter account for the day, Maya Arulpragasam not only dropped the tracklisting for her June 29th-due untitled album, but also dropped the video for her new track “Born Free.” Umm, it’s a bit on the extremely, brutally violent side, so if you happen to watch it, Pitchfork’s Twitter has it for eyes that should probably be 18 years or older.

Apparently Alison Mosshart hasn’t forgotten about her other band, The Kills. In an interview with BBC 6Music the vocalist for Jack White’s other band The Dead Weather said she and Jamie Hince (aka Kate Moss’ squeeze) are getting close to finishing The Kills’ fourth album. “We’re kind of half finished, or three quarters of the way finished with the new record. I’m going to go back after this tour and finish it,” she explained. As for what we can expect, we’ve been told to expect the unexpected. “We always try to make a record that sounds totally different than the one before it or anything we’ve ever done, so that’s usually the hard part, finding that new thing to do between just two people.”

If you’ve got tickets to see Slayer on the American/Canadian Carnage Tour this summer get ready to be excited. The band have announced that they’ll be playing their 1990 classic Seasons In The Abyss in its entirety.

Grizzly Bear have written a brand new track for a new ad by the Washington State Lottery. How generous! The song isn’t titled (yet) but it’s very lovely, large in part to the directorial chops of music video extraordinaire Patrick Daughters.

EW’s Music Mix is streaming a brand new track by Tokyo Police Club. If you love the band’s debut EP, well, you’ll love “Boots of Danger (Wait Up)” - yes, that’s its name.

Dirty Projectors are giving away a brand new single. The band announced on their MySpace page that they’re giving away a digital download of the A-side “Ascending Melody” as well as B-side “Emblem of the World.” All you’ve got to do is register and give them your important deets. The band’s label Domino will also sell the single as a 7-inch.

If you’re just dying to hear the new Spoon album (and who isn’t?), you can now stream Transference in its entirety over at the NPR site. The album hits shops on January 19th.

M.I.A. is getting ready to drop her third album. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Maya Arulpragasam said most of the album was recorded with producer Blaqstarr. As for the music, she said the goal was “to be real, whatever that is” and to avoid making music that is “gimmicky or silly or hipstery.” The untitled album is set for summer.

Industrial noise merchants Swans have reunited. According to a MySpace blog posting, the band are working on a new album and have posted an acoustic demo for a song called “Jim.” Leader Michael Gira will be releasing an acoustic version of these songs on CD as well as a live DVD in a limited edition, hand-packaged set titled I Am Not Insane as a way of paying for the studio album.

Pavement are looking like the (obvious) headliners for this summer’s Pitchfork Music Festival. News has leaked online that the seminal indie rockers will indeed be one of the influential website’s evening closers over the weekend event, which usually occurs in mid-July .

Diplo has described M.I.A.’s new album as sounding “like Gucci Mane meets Animal Collective.” The producer is currently working on her new album with Switch, and says they’ve already finished four tracks.

If goths weren’t into Twilight before well that will soon change. MTV is reporting that Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy will make a cameo in the third film, Eclipse. According to actor Billy Burke, who plays Kristen Stewart’s father, Murphy “plays a vampire in a flashback sequence.” We can only assume Bela Lugosi is rolling in his grave…

Cold Cave’s music is featured in a new ad for Radio Shack. Yes, you can now hear “Life Magazine” try and sell you electronic gadgets that you likely don’t need.

Asobi Seksu are looking to their fans to donate money to them for a UK tour. According to them, “Support bands on large tours like this make next to nothing.”

And the Pixies are offering fans a free download of special Doolittle live EP, which you can grab here.
