Super Furry Animals will perform songs from their Creation Records back catalogue at a gig in their hometown of Cardiff, Wales on November 20th. “Recreation” will be part of the Soundtrack and International Film and Music Festival, and will also screen frontman Gruff Rhys’ film Separado!.

Hans-Peter Lindstrøm is set to get into the holiday spirit by releasing a 40-minute version of “Little Drummer Boy.” His cosmic disco version of the Christmas classic will be available as a special bonus disc with his forthcoming album Real Life Is No Cool, a collaboration with singer Christabelle.

The Quietus is getting readers ready for Halloween this week with a series of spooky stories written by musicians. So far, Wild Beasts have contributed a tale they call “The Cottage,” while Alison Mosshart of The Kills and The Dead Weather handwrote hers, titled “The Black Marks.”

Retribution Gospel Choir have unveiled the most breathtaking album cover of this next year.

And The xx have remixed/covered Florence and the Machine’s “You’ve Got the Love” and it’s brilliant. Thankfully there is an eye-popping video with a throwback to Studio 54 to go with it.
