Who: Tim & Eric

What: The comedy team behind Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, the most nightmarish show on television.

Sounds like: Two demented creative troublemakers elevating idiotic inside jokes to the point of high art.

RIYL: “Weird” Al Yankovic, Mr. Show, public-access TV.

Need to know: Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will produce a feature film by Tim & Eric, who collaborate often with Zach Galifianakis, Jeff Goldblum, John C. Reilly, David Cross, and various cast members from Saturday Night Live. The group’s Eric Wareheim has directed some bizarre and incredibly graphic music videos for a range of artists, most recently Major Lazer and Depeche Mode.

Track: Rendered in the style of Hall & Oates with a production nod to Madonna’s “Like A Virgin,” “Petite Feet” is the story of a man with undersized feet, and how the affliction detracts from his masculinity. As Tim & Eric tell it, the subject of their song has a “feminine step,” and the sound of his shoes leads people to mistake him for a woman before he’s in plain sight. The song then uses a call-and-response refrain and the alternating sound of timpani drums, triangles, slap bass and wind-chimes to illustrate the contrast between how a man’s walk should sound, and the delicate sound of one man’s remarkably petite feet.

Buy: The song can be downloaded here, and the album, Tim & Eric, Awesome Record, Great Songs! can be purchased here.
