If you’ve been waiting forever for Girl Talk’s groundbreaking 2006 classic Night Ripper to come out on pink vinyl, it’s now available - for a steep price. For $100 you can get the album on limited edition 180-gram 2 LP pink vinyl. So why is it so expensive? Well, 100% of the proceeds going to the charity organization, mycharity: water. Also, Girl Talk’s first two album - Secret Diary and Unstoppable - are being released via a “Pay What You Want” plan on Illegal Art. For more info click here.

Cat Power has told Courier Mail that her next album will be “just me this time.” It’s still pretty early in the writing stages, so don’t get too excited yet.

The BBC has chosen its annual list of the best rising music stars. The “BBC Sound of 2010″ includes emerging acts like Delphic, Ellie Goulding, The Drums, Hurts and Joy Orbison.

Instead of looking forward to the New Year, Impose Magazine is looking back at 2009 with its picks for the best new music of 2009. If we’re picking sides, well, Impose certainly has the edge by highlighting some of the year’s best like Thee Oh Sees, Ganglians, Smith Westerns, Grass Widow and A Sunny Day In Glasgow. They’re also giving away a free 50-track comp featuring all of the bands.

Speaking of free… As I pointed out in today’s Earworm, [adult swim] is offering another free mixtape. ATL RMX contains remixes of Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Cee-Lo, B.o.B., Hollyweerd and Playboy Tre by the likes of Flying Lotus, El-P, Armani XXXChange, Hudson Mohawke, Dam-Funk and SALEM, respectively. Best of all, it’s free.
