Flight of the Conchords have announced they won’t be making a third season of their hit HBO series. On their website, Jemaine and Bret wrote “we’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season.” Damn!

In case you’re scrambling for some decent Christmas music this season, Toronto’s Ohbijou are giving away a cover of Wham!’s brilliant “Last Christmas.” You can download it here.

Speaking of free music, English indie troubadour Lightspeed Champion has made the first of 50 bootleg albums he’s recorded free on his website. House-Sitting Songs is about what you think it is: an album he made while house-sitting for a friend in NYC.

In an interview with Spinner, Jay Reatard says he gets why his band members split, saying, “It was never supposed to go on so long. It’s a solo band. One tour turned into another for two-and-a-half years, pretty much nonstop. You get caught up in what’s comfortable. Things that are comfortable aren’t always healthy.”

And The A.V. Club has released its list of The Year in Band Names. Some choice names include Phat Phunktion, Nipples Erectis, Crotch Rock It and Said The Shotgun To The Head. Uh huh…
